Princess Jalicia

Get yourself up to date with Walt Disney's newest and most popular fairytale, which has not only inspired little girls all over America, but also stirred up some major controversy.

Summary:

Once upon a time, there was the Kingdom of Apathania. There lived the sweetest and most kindhearted people of all the land. It was run by the very beloved King and Queen, Mr. and Mrs. Sympathian. But it was on the darkest day that this kingdom had ever seen that King William Sympathian was killed in battle fighting for Apathania. The Queen was so heartbroken that she hired a witch to cast down a spell in which would not only give different disabilities to all the people of her land, making their everyday lives more difficult in different ways for each person, but to make them all blind. She did all of this as a result of resentment towards the kingdom considering her husband was fighting to save each of them, but also because she felt as though no one could understand how hard her life was now. If everyone in the kingdom was now blind, no one would be able to understand the struggles of one another, allowing for everyone to finally understand what she was going through. This destroyed the kingdom. No one felt anything towards one another and family, friends, and neighbors were growing distant and resentful. There was no sense of what was unkind or insensitive to say to one another because no one understood what anyone else was going through. The only one of the kingdom left untouched was her daughter, Princess Jalicia. The queen was, too, resentful of even her own daughter for being too young to understand the hurt she felt for the loss of the King that she sent her to live with her neighbor, a glassmaker. Jalacia realized it was now up to her to race against time, making glasses for everyone in the Kingdom, returning their sight and understanding of one another, in order to restore the beauty in their kingdom before things get too bad.
